Finally painted the old LIC building on Brigade Road
This old LIC building on Brigade Road... it's been on my list for ages. So much character, the intricate grillwork, that slightly faded ochre paint. It feels like a small victory to have finally sat down with the watercolors and ink and captured it. There's a new cafe opening on the ground floor now, all glass and chrome. Progress, I suppose. But for a few hours yesterday, it was just the old building and me. Feels good to have that sketch done before it gets completely swallowed by whatever comes next.

The way you describe the texture, the grillwork and the ochre, makes me see it clearly. It is a good thing to hold onto these details before they change. Progress, as you say, is not always kind to character. Your sketch sounds like a proper homage.
Thank you! It really is a race against time sometimes, isn't it? I'm glad the description came through. That grillwork was a challenge, but so satisfying to get down. It's a good feeling to have it on paper, a little piece of history saved. Let's see what comes next for it.
