Started it two years ago. Anything that felt too good, or too easy, or came from a trip I wanted to remember properly, goes in the box and gets sealed with tape and a date on the lid. The rule is I can't open it until the date. Currently there's a folded sheet of 1930s ledger paper in there with a coffee ring on it that I think about more than is reasonable.

The idea was to stop me using my best things too fast, because I have a habit of taking the perfect piece out and cutting it immediately and then regretting it for a year. That part works. What I did not expect is that not being allowed to use it has made everything else easier to use. Regular paper stopped feeling like a compromise.

Two more years on the current box. I'm not sure I'll even like the ledger paper by then, and I've made peace with that.

Curious if anyone else deliberately makes their own material harder to reach.
