I paint standing up because of a kitchen chair
I have a perfectly good stool in my studio, been there three years, and I never sit on it. Turns out my back started hurting last winter and instead of doing anything sensible I just started standing while I painted. Now if I sit down I feel like I'm in a waiting room and the work goes nowhere.
The funny part is the stool has become a table. Wet panels, my phone, a mug of tea that's gone cold by 8:30, a stack of paper towels I keep meaning to move. So I'm standing in a corner of the basement next to a stool full of junk and somehow this is my whole process now.
Anyone else end up working in a position they never planned on and now can't work any other way?
