i've been painting the same square for three weeks and i think it's working
three weeks on one 12x12. same square, six or seven layers, and every morning i mix the same green and somehow it comes out different, which should be maddening and instead i'm kind of obsessed.
a friend saw it propped against the wall and asked if it was "done or a study" and i said yes
anyway the tube of phthalo green i bought in like 2021 is down to the crimp and i've started doing this thing where i squeeze it from the very bottom like it owes me money. i'm going to be genuinely sad when it goes. i know phthalo is basically the same everywhere but this one's been through it with me
the thing nobody warned me about is that when you stop chasing a finished painting and just let one layer dry a day, your whole studio gets quieter. i've got stuff on the easel that's "resting" and it's been resting since june lol
