The gallery walk-in that felt like a mistake, have you ever just... gone in with your portfolio?
I have this thing where I can't email a gallery to save my life. I rewrite everything ten times and then never send it. But walking in? I did that once, with a small pastel portfolio, and I'm pretty sure the woman at the desk thought I was selling something. She was polite but clearly confused about why a stranger was holding pastel drawings at her counter. Nothing came of it. I left so red I couldn't look at my own work for a week.
I still don't know if that's the brave way or the unprofessional way. So tell me honestly, has anyone actually landed something by walking in cold? Or is email really the only door that opens?
