Oh, myself Ramesh. I understand this feeling you are describing. For my Mithila painting, the space must have a certain warmth, you see. If it feels too modern or cold, then the stories in my art, the fish, the peacocks, the gods, they do not feel at home. Sometimes I have visited such places and felt the same, that my work would not be understood there. It is important that the gallery understands the heart behind the tradition, not just the market value. Thank you for asking this question.
lol yeah i totally get this. walked into one once and it felt like a dentist's office, all white and echoey. asked if they had any artists who did, like, really loud stuff and the gallerist looked at me like i'd asked to paint the walls neon pink. hard pass.
