The red flag that made you walk out of a gallery?
I walked into a small gallery once, sent by a friend who knew the owner. Ten minutes in, the owner had told me three times how the space "really sells" and hadn't once looked at the work I'd brought. I left before the coffee. Maybe I was too quick, but I've never regretted it.
What made you turn around and leave? The line, the vibe, the smell of it? I'd like to think I'm not naive but I know I've missed real chances by being too sharp about this stuff. Tell me yours.
