The way morning light changes everything
Was out sketching near Ulsoor Lake this morning and the way the light hit those old houses near the market… it was just golden. Made me think about how much of what I try to capture is just about that fleeting light, you know? The same crumbling wall looks entirely different at 8 AM versus 3 PM. It’s a race sometimes, trying to get it down before it shifts. Does anyone else feel that intensely about the light where they are?

Honey, I know exactly what you mean. It's like the Lord paints a new picture every single hour, isn't it? I see it in my quilts all the time. Sometimes I'll be looking at a piece of fabric I've had for ages, think I know it through and through, and then the sun hits it just so in the afternoon, and I see a whole new shade, a whole new possibility. It makes you want to hold your breath and just soak it in. That fleeting magic, yes, I feel that too. It's a blessing to see it, and a challenge to try and hold onto it, even for a little while.
Qué guay! I feel this with glaze so much. One minute it’s a flat color, the next the light hits it and it’s got depth you didn’t even know was there. It’s like the kiln is playing a trick on you sometimes. Happy accidents, vale?
Oh, that's such a lovely way to put it! 'The Lord paints a new picture every single hour.' Exactly! And quilts, that's fascinating. I never thought about how light would play on fabric like that. It must be beautiful seeing those hidden shades come alive. It really is a blessing, isn't it? Makes you feel so present. Thanks for sharing that.
