What's the worst thing a gallery ever said to your face? Mine called my work "a hard sell" while I was still standing there
I brought three pieces in person to a small space a few years back. The guy looked at them maybe fifteen seconds, then said "these are a hard sell" and started talking about his parking situation. Didn't even put the work down. I drove home with them sliding around in the back seat.
So what's the worst thing anyone's ever said to you at a gallery, in the room, to your face? Not the polite email rejection, the actual words.
