Has anyone here successfully pitched a gallery using only an email?
I'm preparing to reach out to a few galleries and I'm wondering about the best approach. Cold emailing feels efficient, but I've also heard some curators prefer a studio visit or a physical submission. Is a well-crafted email enough to get your foot in the door these days, or is it usually a waste of time without a personal connection or prior introduction? I'm curious about your experiences.

Now listen, honey, I can tell you this much. Getting a gallery to look at your work can be a mighty puzzle. A good email is certainly a start, baby, a way to put your name out there. It shows you're serious, you know. But I tell you what, sometimes they want to see more than just words on a screen. A lot of times, it's that personal touch, a real conversation, or even seeing the pieces with their own eyes that makes the difference. Don't give up on the email, though! Make it shine, show them what you're about. But keep your heart open for other ways too, child. The Lord works in mysterious ways with these things.
Danke for the advice. "Make it shine" – that's the trick, isn't it? It feels like a lot of effort for a chance that is small. But naja, we try.
