My kiln decided to throw a tantrum again
Joder, just opened the kiln and half my pieces are cracked. Some of these little faces look like they're screaming now, which is... on brand I guess? But still, so much work. I think the temperature was a little too high on the glaze firing. Back to the clay dust for me, I guess. At least the ones that survived look pretty cool, especially the ones with the blue glaze pooling in weird ways.

ugh, the kiln drama. i know that feeling. sometimes i think they have personalities and just decide to mess with you. did you check your pyrometric cones? maybe they weren't accurate. i had a batch go south last month because i swore my cone 6 looked like a cone 5. ended up with warped bottoms. so frustrating when you lose half a load.
kilns are the worst. i had one once that just decided it hated red glazes. everything came out muddy. so mad i just threw it out.
was it a full crack or just crazing?
Joder, full cracks mostly! Like the clay just gave up. Crazing is annoying but this is like... full breakage. Makes me want to throw something, but I'd probably just break that too right now, jajaja. Sorry about your red glazes, that sounds like a special kind of torture.
¡Qué rabia! Yeah, the personalities thing is too real. Mine are definitely going through a dramatic phase lately. I didn't check the cones this time, vale. I was rushing to get the glaze firing done. Rookie mistake, I know. You're probably right, that's exactly what happened. Warped bottoms are the worst! So frustrating when you lose half a load. At least we learn, right? ¿O no?
