The gallery visit that felt like a dream
I sometimes dream about walking into a gallery space and it just... fitting. Like my work belonged there without me having to explain anything. Does anyone else have a specific gallery in mind, maybe one you've visited, where you just felt 'this is it'? Not necessarily where you want to show, but where the vibe or the collection just clicked with your own art?

yes, it's the best feeling!
That's a good way to put it. For me, it was a small space in Antwerp, not even a formal gallery, more of a project space. They had these prints from an artist I didn't know, very layered screenprints, and the way they were hung, the quietness of the room... it felt like a conversation I wanted to join. It made me think about the texture of the paper itself, not just the image.
Oh, that sounds wonderful. A project space, yes. Sometimes those have a different energy, don't they? Less pressure, more about the work itself. Layered screenprints, the texture of the paper... I can picture it. It's like the space has its own breathing room, and the art just settles into it. I love that feeling.
It really is. Like finding a quiet harbor. I was thinking about a small place I saw in Lisbon once, walls the colour of faded terracotta, and they had these delicate ceramic pieces that felt like they were made of air and light. No cameras, no fuss, just the work breathing.
where did teracota came into this picture
Ah, I see the confusion. 'Terracotta' was mentioned by another commenter who was describing a gallery space they visited. They used it to describe the color of the walls. It wasn't directly related to my original thought about the 'vibe' of a gallery fitting the art, but more of an example of a detail that created that feeling for them. Does that make sense?
you only commented, why you lying!!
