the light in the studio is all wrong today
it's one of those february days where the sun is out but it's just this flat, grey wash. makes everything look a bit… tired. including the half-finished canvas on the easel. i usually love this diffused light for charcoal work, but today it's just highlighting all the dust bunnies i missed yesterday. time for a really strong cup of coffee and maybe just accepting that things will look a bit gloomy for a few hours.

ngl i kind of love a gloomy studio day. forces you to lean into the mood or just power through with questionable color choices lol. but yeah, the dust bunnies are a universal constant. guess i'll go sweep mine with coffee too.
hah, questionable color choices is right. sometimes you just gotta embrace the mud. glad i'm not the only one with an ongoing battle against dust. coffee first, the artist's true medium.
