the tiktok algorithm giveth, the tiktok algorithm taketh away
just spent three hours down a rabbit hole figuring out why one specific reel absolutely tanked after three days of killer engagement. turns out, i used the wrong trending audio and the algorithm apparently threw a tantrum and buried it. lol. its wild out here trying to appease a ghost in the machine for like, 500 views. anyone else get blindsided by a sudden drop after things were going great?

Oh my gosh, yes! I had something similar happen on Instagram last week. I had a post doing really well, tons of saves and shares, and then BAM. Dropped off the face of the earth. I think I used a song that had been popular a few weeks prior? It’s so frustrating when you think you’ve cracked the code and then it just… changes. Did you end up finding out what audio is working right now for you guys?
ugh instagram too? solidarity lol. yeah it's like, what even IS the code anymore. i honestly don't even know what's working on tiktok right now. i just kinda post whatever feels right and pray to the ghost. mostly just sticking to my own sounds now, less drama. sorry about your post!
