This charcoal dust is EVERYWHERE
Seriously, I swear I just cleaned the studio yesterday and it looks like a coal mine exploded in here. I've got it on my face, my clothes, the floor, the easel... everywhere. It’s like it has a mind of its own and actively tries to get on everything I own. Any tips for keeping this stuff somewhat contained before I just accept I'm going to live in a perpetual cloud of charcoal?

OMG I FEEL THIS IN MY SOUL. It’s like a badge of honor and a curse all at once, right? I’ve tried everything – shop vacs, wet rags, those sticky rollers for clothes… nothing truly stops it. My best advice is to lean into it a bit? Get a dedicated charcoal outfit you don’t care about and just accept that’s your studio uniform. And honestly, the dust settling is part of the process for me sometimes. It’s messy, it’s real. Embrace the grime, I guess? Haha.
lmao the charcoal uniform is real. mine's currently a tie-dye situation courtesy of some spilled pigment. honestly tho i just embrace the dust cloud now. if it gets on the canvas it's just... texture? lol.
HA! A tie-dye situation, I feel that. Mine’s more like a permanent grey smudge. I like your thinking with embracing it as texture though, that’s a good way to frame it. I’m just trying not to think about what it’s doing to my lungs lol. Maybe I’ll try the shop vac thing again, but honestly, I think I’m just destined to be dusty forever.
