Bought a new angle grinder in January and I still haven't plugged it in
The old one is a 4.5 inch Makita I've had since 2004. Cord is taped in two places, the guard's been off so long I'd have to look for it, and it starts on the second or third trigger pull now. It owes me nothing.
Bought the replacement in January. It's still in the box on the bench, and I've moved that box four times this week to get at other things. I could tell you it's about the tool. It isn't. The old one knows my hands and I know its noises, and I know exactly how long I can push it before it bites. New one's a stranger and I'd have to learn it.
Meanwhile the piece I'm on is a limestone torso, about 400 pounds, and I'm at the stage where I'm cutting the last of the shaping lines off. There's no room for a tool that surprises me.
So the box stays. Somebody tell me they've done this, because I'm starting to feel like an idiot about it.
