I am lost with my art prices
I am totally lost on how to price my art confidently. What system or equation do you use?
I understand the process of raising prices if you are selling consistently and investing in your art career. But I am looking for some guidance to get started.

This is such a hard question and I don't think there's a clean equation for it, if there were, none of us would be guessing.
The thing that helped me was letting go of the idea that the price represents what the work is "worth" and instead treating it as what I need to keep making it. Materials, time, studio rent, the hours that nobody sees, the failed prints, the experiments. Then a little on top so I'm not just breaking even.
But honestly? I still get it wrong sometimes. I've priced things too low because I was afraid nobody would buy, and too high because I was attached to a piece and didn't really want to let it go.
What kind of work do you make? That sometimes tells you something about where to start.
