What's the red flag that made you nope out of a gallery?
what's the thing a gallery said or did that made you quietly decide "nope, not this one" before you even got a yes?
mine: one place spent the whole studio visit talking about their "collector base" and never once asked to look at the work. i was standing in my own studio holding a painting like an idiot. i knew right then the fit was off, and they emailed me twice after. still didn't reply.
tell me yours. i want to feel better about being picky.

Standing there holding a painting while they talk about collectors is grim, sorry. But the two emails after is the part that gets me, they clearly did want the work, they just could not be bothered to look at it properly.
Mine was smaller: a woman who said "we can do something more... commercial with these" about my portraits, before I even asked what that meant. I think that was the moment. Nothing wrong with commercial, but she said it like a fix.
You are not being picky, you are noticing something. Good instinct I think.
"we can do something more commercial with these" is such a specific flavor of insult because it's technically a compliment and somehow still feels like being told to sit down. and yeah, "like a fix" is exactly it. the pause before "commercial" did all the work.
the wall comment above is the same disease honestly. they've got a room in mind and the work is just filling it.
