I've been grinding a weld back for two days and it's already right
Forty years and I still can't leave a good bead alone. Welded a joint Monday, clean pass, good penetration, nothing to prove. Been at it with the grinder since, taking it down to look like it grew there.
Called it. It was finished Monday.
The old man I apprenticed under used to say the hardest tool to learn is the one you put down. I thought he meant patience. He meant something worse, which is that you can ruin a thing by wanting to be the one who did it.
Anyway the piece is thinner now than it was this morning and I have nobody to blame but myself. Going to stop before I go through it entirely.
