The angle grinder is the only thing in the shop I actually named
Called it Stella. Don't ask me why, it just happened around year nine and it stuck and now my apprentice uses it too, which is somehow worse.
Anyway. What I actually came on here to say. I've got a piece half finished in the yard, cor-ten plate, about seven feet, and it's been sitting under a tarp since November because I can't decide if the top edge is done. Every time I pull the tarp back I know within about four seconds. Then I stand there for another twenty minutes arguing with myself about it. The four seconds is right. It's always right. Thirty odd years and I still don't trust it.
The actual work today was sharpening chisels, which had nothing to do with the sculpture and was the most useful two hours I've had all week. Some days the real job is just keeping the tools honest.
If you've got something sitting under a tarp, you already know what you're going to do with it.
